What It Is and Why Run It
The Fisiosan 5K is the classic evening race on Lanzarote's calendar: fast and flat 5 kilometers through the streets of Arécife, with start and finish in the heart of the capital. If you fancy a short, intense race with great popular vibe, this is your event.
Plus, the organization donates part of the proceeds to social causes, so every bib counts.
Race Day Schedule (Provisional)
- Bib collection same day at start area (organizer confirms times in 2026 regulations).
- Children's races before the main race.
- 5K race at sunset-evening (around 7:00–8:00 PM, depending on time of year).
When the official regulations are released, we'll update final schedules, start order and logistical details here.
Course and Terrain
- Type: urban circuit in Arécife center.
- Surface: 100% asphalt.
- Profile: practically flat; ideal for going all out from minute 1.
- Atmosphere: streets closed to traffic, neighbors on balconies, music at some points.
- Lighting: urban + spotlights at start/finish; if it's already dark, can bring very light headlamp (optional).
Race Strategy (Runner to Runner)
- Km 0–1: fast but controlled start; very easy to overdo it with adrenaline.
- Km 1–3: find your target pace and hold it; on flat, consistency is key.
- Km 3–4: hold on; urban heat and asphalt can "weigh" if you don't have pace well calibrated.
- Km 4–5: final acceleration; you can push hard because you're already in finish zone.
Recommended Gear
- Light road shoes (racers or tempo).
- Breathable technical clothing; in summer it can be hot even at night.
- Thin cap or visor if there's still light when starting.
- No backpack or bottle: aid station at finish; 5K isn't enough to dehydrate.
Local Logistics
- Parking: near the circuit; arrive early because downtown fills up.
- Warm-up: 10–15' easy jog + 3–4 strides of 60–80 m.
- Post-race: festive atmosphere in finish area; perfect for the "third half" with other runners.
Runner Services
- Official timing with chip and online results.
- Aid station at finish (water, fruit, etc.).
- Prizes by categories according to regulations.
- Entertainment at start/finish.
Quick Checklist
- Bib and chip attached before warm-up.

- Light, breathable clothing.
- Safety pins or race belt.
- Meeting point with supporters after finish.
