La Sailfish Lanzarote Open Water celebrates its 9th consolidated edition as one of the most important swimming trips in the Canary Islands and on the national circuit. Organized by Sands Beach Active, this test is part of the Tour 250 of the Spanish Open Water Cup, and every year it brings together more than 500 swimmers of all ages and levels, coming from multiple nationalities.

The event offers a unique experience for sea lovers, combining sports, family atmosphere and professionalism in one of the most spectacular coastal enclaves in Lanzarote.

🗺️ Distances and Route

Departures and arrivals take place in the emblematic Playa Grande, with perfectly marked buoys and constant assistance. Each distance is designed to adapt to the level of each participant:

• 5,000 m: For advanced swimmers, with a long distance to the open sea.
• 3,800 m: Ideal for triathletes preparing for IRONMAN distance.
• 1,900 m: Accessible, yet challenging. Very popular among amateurs.
• 800 m, 400 m and 200 m (children): Adapted distances for young people from 7 years old.
  

All the tests have official timing, supplies, water assistance and volunteering at every key point along the route.

🧒 Categories and Family Involvement

One of the hallmarks of the event is its inclusive approach. In addition to the adult categories, the Open Water has a very complete children's program, where the youngest can live their first experience in open water with all the guarantees of safety.

The atmosphere at the finish line is always festive, with entertainment, music and a rest area for athletes and companions.
