What Magma adds to the calendar
Magma Yaiza has a clear editorial value: it places triathlon in the south of the island, linking Playa Blanca with Maciot, Las Breñas, La Hoya and the Janubio area. That makes it different from races centred on Club La Santa or Puerto del Carmen and adds another angle to Lanzarote triathlon.
For popular athletes, the sprint offers a manageable way into racing. For more experienced athletes, the Olympic distance is a serious effort in an area where wind and weather changes can shape the race even in April.
